But Kat and Lisa’s history hides dark secrets.

And there is more to Lisa than meets the eye.

As dangerous cracks start to appear in Kat’s perfect picture of happily-ever-after, she realises that she must face her fear of the past to save her family…

My Review:

The Cover:  Have you seen the beautiful cover. Eye-catching and striking!

The Characters:

  • Katherine (Kat): She is a really effortless and intriguing character to relate too. We have all, had bad things happen to us in the past. She is a strong women who although, through all the bad she is totally devoted and desperately wants a baby and to become a mum/family. But not everything is what it seems with her and she holds many lies and deceptions.
  • Lisa: Do I like her or don’t I? I’m not sure sometimes, I do and sometimes, I really don’t. I don’t know why, maybe because she blows hot or cold. I think that is the point though, I don’t think we are suppose to like her.
  • Nick: I really like him and when the chapters goes back to his past,  it makes me like him even more. It’s nice that we got to see what, he went through and how he became the person he is.

My favourite quotes:

“Paranoia is as thick as the strawberry jam I spread on my toast.”

“The raindrops seem to patter out the melody.”

The Book:

Oh my fucking god!! This book is totally flipping AWESOME. You don’t know whether you’re coming or going but that is what makes a good pychological thriller! There is so many twists and turns, it’s unbelievable gripping. And you have absolutely no idea what is going to happen at the end of the book.

At the beginning of this book, we are thrown straight into having two bodies – a couple that are found in a house in a quiet suburban cul-de-sac.

Kat and Nick are a married couple who’s dream is to become a family. But they haven’t had much luck after two adoptions fell through and other options that didn’t work out.

Kat moved to this town 10 years ago after an accident and met her husband Nick White. She currently works at a stroke support charity which her husband and his best friend Richard set up.

Her laughter.. Kat unexpectedly runs into her old childhood best friend, Lisa. They got chatting just like the ‘ Olden’ days.

Once Lisa found out about Kat and Nick wanting to become parents, She offered to become their Surrogate. After explaining to them, that she has been a surrogate before.

There is so much more but I do not want to give away, any spoilers at all.

As you read the book, you come up with so many what ifs, what not’s and many theories but it is nothing like you would expect.

The story flips back from then to now. The past and now !! Which is cleverly constructed.

This book is seriously amazing, so devasting, gripping, intense and you HAVE to find out what is going on. It keeps you guessing throughout.

    My Rating:

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I congratulate Louise Jensen on her outstanding and her sheer brilliance in writing her 3rd book. She has definitely made it into my top Authors list. I have “The Sister” in paperback ready to read asap.
